Broadcaster, Communicator, Journalist
As a writer for the Edmonton Oilers and NHL.com, I craft compelling game previews and in-depth content that keep fans informed and engaged. With a focus on sharp analysis, engaging storytelling, and a deep passion for sports, I deliver narratives that resonate with audiences and highlight the energy and excitement of professional hockey.
In this role, I craft detailed statistical reports during key moments of the game, gather insightful player and coach quotes post-game to enhance in-depth reports, and ensure the seamless dissemination of essential information through curated communication channels. I also assisted the Manager and Director of Communications with any required tasks, demonstrating a proactive approach to meeting team needs. Acting as the senior intern, I coordinate scheduling for my team, balancing availabilities and operational demands to maintain efficient game-day workflows.
In this role, I cohost and produce The Basketball Show on Sports 1440 once a week. This job requires an expertise in Adobe Auditon and a general knowledge of sound, microphones and computers. I have learned to speak clearly and concisely and have adapted a strong and confident voice.
Hosted by TSN’s Ryan Rishaug, I produce and voice detailed prospect reports on the Bakersfield Condors (AHL) and Edmonton Oilers prospects for the Got Yer Back Podcast. Each week, I deliver professionally formatted updates that are concise, engaging and informative, highlighting key players and their development. My contributions ensure listeners stay connected to the rising talent within the organization while maintaining a high standard of clarity and relevance in every segment.
In this role, I focused on in-depth research to deliver valuable context and analysis, enhancing the broadcast experience for audiences. These skills translate directly to a professional environment, where coordinating effectively with media teams and contributing to a polished, engaging presentation are essential for communication with a necessary audience.
As a sideline reporter, I bring the energy, insight, and human stories of the game to life. Working alongside broadcast teams, I conduct live, in-the-moment interviews with players, coaches, and key figures, delivering engaging content that deepens fan connection and adds a layer of storytelling to each broadcast.
Key Responsibilities:

• Provide timely injury updates, sideline insights, and atmosphere reports that enhance viewer experience
• Assist with hosting duties, including pre-game analysis, halftime reports, and fan engagement pieces

I make these reports in between each period for the Oilers and distribute them to media members to use for broadcasts (e.g Sportsnet) and for news articles about the game. After the game, I interview players and gather quotes to include in the final post-game report. These quotes are then used in a similar way to help enhance the story.
I created mailing lists for each of the 32 NHL teams ensuring the seamless dissemination of essential information through curated communication channels. The communications department uses these throughout the year.
